From July 1, 2023, Cathay Hospitality Management will not voluntarily provide disposable toiletries. Cathay Hospitality Management attaches great importance to energy conservation and sustainability. In order to protect the environment and love the earth, it announced that it will respond in advance from July 2023 and will not actively provide disposable spare parts. It will replace the toiletries in guest rooms with shampoo, conditioner and bath lotion in large bottles.Having been deeply involved in Taiwan for 10 years, Cathay Hospitality Management actively encourages travelers and all their colleagues to take actions to support environmental protection. From within the enterprise to the experience of accommodation, it always responds with sustainability. It is hoped that through everyone’s strength, we can create a cycle of environmental regeneration and waste reduction, and promote environmental protection and green life.

Cathay Hospitality Management’s Hotel Cozzi and Madison Hotel invite hotel guests to bring their own personal toiletries during their stay, reducing the use of disposable consumables (such as shower caps, slippers, toothbrushes, combs, razors, etc.)
Since 2018, its hotels have also introduced large bottles of bath products, which are expected to be fully applied this year, gradually moving towards a sustainable journey for a plastic-reduced life.

Currently, global carbon emissions are gradually increasing, and as a hotel with carbon reduction targets, Cathay Hospitality Management is actively reducing its carbon footprint.In addition to the first use of local ingredients, it also promotes participation in green purchasing. COZZI Blu was awarded the Outstanding Unit Award for Green Procurement by the Environmental Protection Administration of the Executive Yuan in 2022.It collaborates with TESLA on the electric vehicle housing project, allowing the hotel guests to love the Earth and reduce carbon emissions during their travels.In addition, “The Courtyard by Marriott Taipei Downtown” is the only hotel in Taiwan that has both LEED and EEWH green building certifications in the United States, it encourages guests to become cutting-edge green travelers.
Support environmental protection movement “Earth Hour”
In addition to making changes in accommodation experience and services, Cathay Hospitality Management has also invited colleagues to participate in the International Lights Off Day event. The subsidiary Hotel Cozzi, Madison Hotel, and The Courtyard by Marriott Taipei Downtown joined the “Earth Hour” event on International Lights Off Day in March.This is good for corporate citizenship and supports the international environmental protection movement.Starting this year, its hotels have gradually stopped using disposable toiletries. Through the accommodation experience, we continue to respond with sustainability and hope to promote the importance of plastic reduction through reduction of disposable goods.In the future, we will continue to introduce sustainable actions to reduce the burden on the environment, and work together to create a cycle of reuse and green tourism life – “GO GREEN TRAVEL”
Working together to spread love and give back to the society
Cathay Hospitality Management expanded its public welfare care by donating Mid-Autumn Festival moon cakes to children in rural areas, including Yisheng Elementary School and Ba Lung Elementary School in Fuxing Township, Taoyuan City, Napat Elementary School in Xinhua District, Tainan City and Zhuhou Elementary School in Renwu District, Kaohsiung City.
In addition to the caring for seedlings, it also cooperated with the Huashan Foundation to fund moon cakes to vulnerable and lonely elderly families, so that the elders can feel a strong sense of care.
